Mason Deaver

Mason Deaver is a notable young adult author, who hails from a small town in North Carolina and currently resides in Charlotte. Deaver is well-known for their debut novel, "I Wish You All the Best," which features a non-binary protagonist, making it one of the first novels of its kind to be written by a non-binary author. The novel tells the story of Ben De Backer, who comes out to his parents and then has to face the consequences of his decision.

In addition to their writing, Deaver works as a librarian and is a passionate fan of horror movies and video games. When they are not working or writing, they can be found indulging in their hobbies or in the kitchen, baking. Deaver is also an avid gardener, but has a particular dislike for toads that tend to dig holes in their garden. They take inspiration from various authors, including Courtney Summers, Becky Albertalli, Laura Silverman, and Adam Silvera.

Deaver's debut novel was an instant bestseller and received widespread critical acclaim. It was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards and won the Pink News Best Young Adult Book Award. The novel was also named one of Cosmopolitan's 100 Best YA Books! Deaver's subsequent novels, "The Ghosts We Keep" and "The Feeling of Falling In Love," have also earned rave reviews from critics and readers alike. Their fourth novel, "Okay, Cupid," is expected to release in Winter 2024. Besides their novels, Deaver has contributed to several anthologies and is also the author of the Audible Original, "Another Name For the Devil." They currently reside in San Francisco.
