Mesu Andrews is a well-known American author, celebrated for her fiction works that revolve around religious themes. Andrews was born into a family with a diverse Christian background, with her grandparents belonging to the Pilgrim Holiness, Nazarene, Wesleyan Churches, and her father a Quaker and her mother charismatic. Despite God being a central figure in her family discussions, Mesu rejected God and His Word during her rebellious teenage years. However, she discovered Jesus as her savior through the transformed life of an old friend, leading her to become an avid student of the Bible. She scoured children's Bible stories and her Bible, searching for historical and cultural settings, ancient texts, and original languages.\n \n Mesu's writing career began with her first novel, "Love Amid the Ashes," which won the 2012 ECPA Book of the Year for a Debut Author. Her subsequent novels have been released to high praise, focusing on the stories of some of the shadowy women of Scripture. Her novels include "Love's Sacred Song," which tells the story of the beloved shepherdess in King Solomon's Song of Solomon, and "Love in a Broken Vessel," which tells the story of Hosea and Gomer. "In the Shadow of Jezebel" tells the story of Queen Athaliah and the courageous Princess Jehosheba. Her "Treasures of the Nile" series, which includes "The Pharaoh's Daughter" and "Miriam," spans Moses' life from birth to the Exodus. Her 2017 release, "Isaiah's Daughter," begins the Prophets and Kings series and explores the life and ministry of the prophet Isaiah and the tumultuous days of Judah under kings Ahaz and Hezekiah. Her latest novel, "Of Fire and Lions," tells the familiar childhood stories of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the technicolor detail of grown-up research and awareness of Babylon's splendor. Mesu and her husband, Roy, live in the Appalachian Mountains, where she loves Jesus, coffee, her dog, and time with her grandkids.
