Mike Befeler is a mystery author known for his humorous "Geezer Lit" series, which features an octogenarian protagonist with short-term memory loss. Befeler was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and he earned a Bachelor's degree from Stanford and a Master's degree from UCLA. Before turning his attention to fiction writing, Befeler worked in the high technology marketing industry.
Befeler's "Geezer Lit" series includes six books: Retirement Homes Are Murder, Living With Your Kids Is Murder, Senior Moments Are Murder, Cruising in Your Eighties Is Murder, Care Homes Are Murder, and Nursing Homes Are Murder. In addition to this series, Befeler has written a number of other novels, including The V V Agency, The Best Chicken Thief in All of Europe, Murder on the Switzerland Trail, Mystery of the Dinner Playhouse, Court Trouble, and Unstuff Your Stuff. He has also written a historical mystery, MURDER ON THE SWITZERLAND TRAIL, and a professional organizer mystery, UNSTUFF YOUR STUFF. His most recent works include PARADISE COURT, a pickleball mystery, and OLD DETECTIVES HOME, a humorous spoof of the detective mystery.
In 2008, Befeler was identified in the AARP Bulletin as one of four authors in a new emerging mystery sub-genre, and he has since become a prominent figure in this field. He is a past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Mystery Writers of America. Befeler retired from the computer data storage industry to write full time and currently lives in Lakewood, California.
