Orlando A. Sanchez is a bestselling American author, renowned for his works in the mystery and urban fantasy fiction genres. From a young age, Sanchez has been writing, starting with keeping journals as a teenager. Though he admits that his early writings were not of high quality, he has always had a passion for storytelling. This passion was further fueled by his love for text-based adventure games, such as Zork, and tabletop role-playing games, particularly "Dungeons and Dragons," where he often took on the role of "Dungeon Master."
Sanchez's love for reading also played a significant role in shaping his writing style. He was an avid reader during his teenage years, often reading several books during the summer. Some of his favorite authors included JRR Tolkien, Piers Anthony, Ray Bradbury, Terry Brooks, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, and Robert Silverburg. These authors, among many others, helped Sanchez develop his storytelling skills and ignite his imagination.
Sanchez has been writing ever since his teens, inspired by a diverse range of authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, Kat Richardson, Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony, Lee Child, George Lucas, Andrew Vachss, and Barry Eisler. His writing is characterized by urban settings with a paranormal twist, generous doses of magic, martial arts, and mayhem. Aside from writing, Sanchez is a martial artist, holding a 2nd and 3rd Dan in two distinct styles of Karate. He currently resides in New York City with his family, where he can often be found writing in local coffee shops.
