Paty Jager is an accomplished author with over 55 published works, including novels, novellas, and short stories. She specializes in writing murder mystery, western romance, and action adventure stories that often include Western or Native American elements, humor, and engaging characters. Jager and her husband raise alfalfa hay in rural eastern Oregon, where they live the western lifestyle that she often writes about.
Growing up, Jager had a passion for reading and writing, which led her to pursue a career in writing. Before becoming a published author, she wrote freelance articles for two local newspapers and worked as a 4-H Program Assistant for the County Extension service. Her personal experiences of raising hay and cattle, riding horses, and battling rattlesnakes provide inspiration for her writing and add authenticity to her stories.
Jager has received numerous awards for her work, including the EPPIE for Best Contemporary Romance in 2008 for "Perfectly Good Nanny," first place in the paranormal Lories Best Published Book Contest in 2010 for "Spirit of the Mountain," and a finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence in 2011 for "Spirit of the Lake." In 2013, "Secrets of a Mayan Moon" won the Reader's Crown Award for Best Romantic Suspense, and in 2015, "Double Duplicity" was a finalist in the Chanticleer Mayhem and Murder Contest. Most recently, in 2018, "Haunting Corpse" was a finalist in the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence in Mystery/Suspense. With such an impressive list of accolades, it's no wonder that Jager has become a beloved author in the genre.
