Rachel Hore is a successful English author, best known for her bestselling books such as 'The Dream House', 'The Memory Garden', and 'The Glass Painter's Daughter'. Hore was born in Epsom, Surrey, and spent many years working in publishing in the bustling city of London before deciding to pursue writing as a full-time career.
Hore's writing career took off after she moved with her family to Norwich, Norfolk. She has since become a Sunday Times bestselling author, with several of her novels becoming Richard and Judy Bookclub picks. Some of her most popular works include 'The Dream House', 'The Memory Garden', 'The Glass Painter's Daughter', 'A Place of Secrets', and 'A Gathering Storm'.
Hore's novels often feature dual narratives, with one story set in the present and the other in the past. She enjoys the freedom that this style of writing provides, allowing her to escape into different time periods and explore the ways in which the past and present intersect. Her characters are often on a quest to solve a mystery from the past, which in turn helps them to resolve their own personal issues. Hore's writing is heavily researched, and she has taken classes in glass painting and visited numerous locations to ensure that her descriptions are authentic. She has a particular fondness for Lamorna Cove in Cornwall, which served as the inspiration for her second novel, 'The Memory Garden'. Hore is also a part-time teacher of Publishing and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, but has recently transitioned to full-time writing.
