Ralph W. Cotton is a well-known American author, celebrated for his western novels. His writing career began in his elementary school days, where he would write stories as a means to escape the boredom of school work, and as a way to excel in something, since he struggled academically. Cotton's love for writing led him to create successful novel series such as Jeston Nash, Gunman's Reputation, and Ranger Sam Burrack.
Before becoming a novelist, Cotton worked a variety of jobs that included being a second mate on a commercial barge, a teamster, a Lutheran lay minister, and an iron worker. These experiences provided him with a wealth of knowledge and insights, which he would later incorporate into his writing. When he's not writing, Cotton enjoys painting, sailing, photography, and playing the guitar. He currently resides in Hernando County, Florida, with his wife, Mary Lynn.
Cotton became a published author in 1994 with the release of his debut novel, 'While Angels Dance'.
