S.C. Gwynne

S.C. Gwynne is an accomplished journalist and historian, best known for his works on American history. Although he was born in Massachusetts and raised in Connecticut, Gwynne now calls Texas his home. He is the author of several critically acclaimed books, including "Empire of the Summer Moon," "Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson," and "The Perfect Pass: American Genius and the Reinvention of Football."

Gwynne's writing career has spanned over several decades, during which he has written extensively for various publications, including Time Magazine and Texas Monthly. At Time, he served as Bureau Chief, National Correspondent, and Senior Editor, traveling to various parts of the world to report on significant stories. His work has also been featured in the New York Times, Harper's, and California Magazine.

Before his career in journalism, Gwynne was a French teacher and an international banker. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Princeton University and a master's degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the renowned novelist John Barth. Gwynne currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife, the artist Katie Maratta.
