Steve Higgs is an English author who is best known for writing the Blue Moon Investigations series and the Patricia Fisher Cruise Mystery series. His writing spans across urban fantasy, paranormal, and crime fiction genres. Higgs' passion for writing was evident from a young age, as he won his first award for creative writing at the age of ten. However, his interest in other subjects was minimal, and he found himself uninterested in school. This lack of interest led him to join the army at the age of seventeen, where he discovered a natural aptitude for the work and quickly rose through the ranks. Despite his success in the military, Higgs' passion for writing never waned, and he worked on several ideas while still serving.
After leaving the military as a forty-two-year-old man, Higgs found that he was now a very employable man. His passion for education had returned, and he pursued it vigorously, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Technology and a Master's degree in Management and Business and Engineering. However, despite his success in his career, Higgs never considered authorship as a viable career option. Nonetheless, by the time he left the military, he had finished writing the manuscript for "Paranormal Nonsense," the first book in the Blue Moon Investigations series.
Higgs' debut novel, Paranormal Nonsense, was written while he was still serving as a Captain in the British Army. He would have loved to pretend that he had a career that required redaction and denial by the government, but in reality, he started out as a mechanic. At school, Higgs was disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first award at the age of ten. Although he would like to claim that he has won more awards since then, that is not the case. However, he is enjoying writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in his mind, eager to be written.
Now retired from the military, Higgs lives in the southeast corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, he doubts he will ever leave, as the beer is too good. Higgs enjoys giving away free books to readers, as he believes that once they delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills he writes, they will go on to buy more. He is prolific in his writing and continues to produce high-quality novels for his readers' enjoyment.
