Suzanne LaFleur is a distinguished author of children's books, who was born in a small town near Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Newton and Natick. From a young age, LaFleur was an avid reader, devouring several books during the summer months and even sleeping with a book under her pillow. She also enjoyed writing, creating plays and shows for her siblings and neighborhood kids to participate in, and filling up notebooks with her own novels. Her passion for writing only grew stronger as she got older, and she decided in the fourth grade that she would write books for people her age when she grew up.
Despite being encouraged by her elders to explore other career options, LaFleur remained steadfast in her decision to become a writer. She attended college at Washington and Lee, where she studied English and European History, and later earned her MFA in Writing for Children from The New School in New York City. Today, LaFleur spends her time between Natick and New York, writing, reading, exercising, and visiting with friends. She is known for her popular Beautiful Blue World series, as well as several standalone novels.
LaFleur is a prolific writer who enjoys a variety of interests outside of writing, including collecting dishes that don't match, wearing mismatched socks, taking out too many books from the library, and planning travels to Europe. She is also known for her love of crackers and cheese, swimming, and writing letters. LaFleur takes pride in providing a genuine record of what she reads on Goodreads, with books that cater to readers of all ages, from children to adults. Her interests and passions are reflected in her writing, making her a beloved author in the children's literature community.
