Thomas Keller is a highly respected American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He is known for his high standards and exceptional culinary skills, which have led to the establishment of a collection of restaurants that have set a new standard in hospitality. One of his most well-known restaurants, The French Laundry in Yountville, California, has received numerous awards from the James Beard Foundation, including the Best California Chef in 1996 and the Best Chef in America in 1997. The restaurant is also a regular feature in the annual Restaurant Magazine list of the Top 50 Restaurants of the World.
In addition to The French Laundry, Keller is also responsible for a number of other successful restaurants and bakeries across the United States. He is the first and only American chef to have been awarded simultaneous three-star Michelin ratings for two different restaurants, The French Laundry and Per Se in New York. Keller's impact on the culinary world extends beyond his own restaurants, as he was designated a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor in 2011, and led Team USA to win silver at the 2015 Bocuse d'Or competition in Lyon, France. He is also the founder of Cup4Cup, a gluten-free flour that can be used in any recipe as a replacement for traditional all-purpose flour. Keller's cookbooks, including "The French Laundry Cookbook," "Bouchon," "Under Pressure," "Ad Hoc at Home," and "Bouchon Bakery" are widely regarded as some of the best in the industry.
