Tony Wirt

Tony Wirt is a horror fiction author who was born in Lake Mills, Iowa. From a young age, Wirt showed a propensity for storytelling, with his first essay titled "Airplane II" being featured in the "Creative Courier," the Lake Mills Elementary School's yearly paper, when he was in the first grade. This early success in storytelling no doubt contributed to his later pursuit of a career in writing.

Wirt attended the University of Iowa, where he earned degrees in Communication Studies and Journalism. His education and early career were not solely focused on creative writing, however. After graduating, Wirt spent nine years working in media relations for the Hawkeye Athletic Department. He also worked as a sportswriter, a movie ticket taker, and a Dairy Queen ice cream slinger. Despite this diverse work experience, Wirt never strayed too far from his storytelling roots, as evidenced by his ability to still create the perfect swirl on a soft serve ice cream cone.

Today, Wirt lives in Rochester, Minnesota with his wife and two daughters. When he's not spending time with his family or pursuing his love of fly fishing, Wirt can be found working on his next novel. With his unique blend of life experiences and talent for storytelling, Wirt is sure to continue making a name for himself in the horror fiction genre.
